GitoGito Hustler emerged from the vibrant underground music scene of Kyoto, Japan in 1995, forming as an all-female punk rock band with a raw, unstoppable energy that would eventually carry them far beyond their home country's borders. What began as a local passion project quickly evolved into one of Japan's most compelling punk exports, a band unafraid to make noise on an international scale.
The group's lineup brought together four fiercely talented musicians: Yago on vocals and guitar, Mitsuko on guitar, Tae on bass guitar, and Fusa on drums. Adding a uniquely personal dimension to the band's story, Yago and Fusa are sisters, with Fusa being the younger of the two. This familial bond at the core of GitoGito Hustler gave the group a tightly knit chemistry that translated powerfully into their live performances and recordings alike.

In 2008, the band experienced a notable change when bassist Tae stepped away from the group, leaving a gap in their original four-member formation. Despite this transition, GitoGito Hustler pressed forward, relocating their base of operations from Kyoto to Tokyo, signaling a continued commitment to growth and evolution.
